In support of mental health awareness, KAEFER’s Naval Base Team in Western Australia took part in the Blue Tree Project.
Originating in Western Australia, the project involves painting dead trees bright blue to provoke conversations around mental health.
Adding a KAEFER spin on the well-known project, our team designed and laser-cut a 400mm miniature sample tree, using folding and spot-welding, to test its durability before building a 2-metre steel tree at our Naval Base Sheet Metal Workshop.
The team celebrated R U OK? Day by painting the tree bright blue together. Now, standing tall and proud outside reception, the tree is officially registered on the Blue Tree Project website. Serving as a reminder that our mental wellbeing is paramount.
The Blue tree Project is a catalyst to encouraging conversations around mental health and checking in with family, friends and colleagues. KAEFER’s tree is not only a symbol of strength, togetherness and courage, but also stands as a testament to the power of starting conversations and the importance of mental health awareness.
