Olympic Dam SCM21 Shutdown
Overview
KAEFER was engaged as the primary contractor for access requirements and fabric maintenance on the shutdown.
Scope of Work
KAEFER’s scope included
- Civil works including demolition and replacement of slabs, pedestals and bund walls
- Scaffolding – 1,220T of scaffolding was erected and dismantled
- Insulation & cladding – 6,400m2 of insulation was removed and replaced
- Surface protection – Remediation of 1,200m2
- Rope access – >5,600 hours across mechanical, painting, and insulation scopes
In addition, due to the team’s high quality performance on the shutdown, KAEFER was engaged by Bechtel to complete additional mechanical scopes.
