Hay Point Conveyors 11P & 21P Replacement
Overview
KAEFER (through acquired business G&S) was engaged by BMA for the replacement works of both the CV11P and CV21P conveyors to reliably sustain the Hay Point Terminal’s in-loading and out-loading capacity for the next 50 years.
Scope of Work
During the replacement works, wider conveyors were installed to align with the capacity of the new Stacker/Reclaimers SR6 and SR7.
The stockyard conveyors, CV11P and CV21P, at the Hay Point Terminal were approximately 45 years old and nearing the end of their asset life (structural integrity/corrosion). The prior capacity of both CV11P and CV21P was 6000tph, which constrained reclaim rated from the new higher capacity Stacker/Reclaimers SR6 and SR7.
The Project was completed ahead of schedule, during a period of COVID-19 restrictions and with approximately 40% increase for engineering design change and scope growth. High safety performance was delivered and maintained, with a TRIFR rate of 0.
