Carmichael CHP & CPP Construction
Overview
KAEFER (through acquired business G&S) carried out the engineering, design, and construction of the CHP and the CPP for the Carmichael Mine.
Scope of Work
The scope included:
- Supply and construction of coal processing infrastructure.
- Supply and construction of coal sizing and conveying equipment.
- Construction of coal stockpiling infrastructure.
- Construction of the Train Load Out infrastructure to enable loading of trains.
The scope comprised the EPC of a 1,500tph / 10.8mt/a CHP including ROM bin, crushing circuit, stackers, stockpiles, Train Load Out (TLO) and supporting infrastructure. The CPP is a 1,250 tph coal preparation plant.
The project successfully delivered coal for the first coal shipment to NQXT during the testing and commissioning of Bowen Rail Company’s new trains in December 2021.
KAEFER executed all SMPE&I works, procured all fabricated items, supplied all construction equipment, cranage, supervision and labour required for the project including commissioning spanning pre-commissioning through to load commissioning and handover.
