Sharing Our Global LNG Expertise

KAEFER Integrated Services is pleased to have recently supported our international KAEFER colleagues on a major LNG project in the Northern Hemisphere. Leveraging the in-house expertise of our LNG Solutions Centre in Perth, we provided technical assistance and supervision for pre-insulation of approximately 7,000m of piping for LNG jetty rundown lines.

Pre-insulation is an internally-developed solution where cryogenic pipe insulation is applied in a mobile modular plant prior to site installation. The insulation typically comprises several layers of polyurethane foam covered and protected by a tough outer composite shell, such as glass reinforced plastic or glass reinforced epoxy. Pre-insulation offers a number of benefits compared to conventional application methods, including reduced on-site man hours, higher quality and lower ongoing maintenance costs.
